OOP AND COL CUT

Although I appreciate I am stating the obvious I thought I would post this anyway.

I have not in the past wired any of my Humbucker guitars with an OOP option preferring instead to use the push pull to give combined Series and OOP . Just my preference .

OK so I recently did quite a simple wring with 2 PPs . One cutting the screw coils and leaving the inners as I like the "quackish " sound and the other giving the option of putting the bridge OOP with the neck . With independent volume controls I was hoping for some interesting blends when OOP.

Although I should clearly not have been I have to confess to being a little caught by surprise when I realised that when on the bridge alone with both PPs up I was actually getting the bridge screw coil and a bit of a "Tele" ish twang. Sadly no element of quack when OOP in coil cut mode ,

Of course its pretty obvious that grounding the red and white wires to a reversed black and green will change change which coils is cut .However it caught me a little unawares.
