Very nice Simon. I played one that looked just like that in a shop a while back....couldn't swing a deal though!

I had some '57 Classics in an Epi Sheraton & they rocked....might not need an immediate change.

Yes, Billy Howerdell does play a '93 classic with Anderson pickups. I know Rio Grandes would sound amazing in that LP!

I just can't get used to the thin neck of the classic or I'd getting one sooner or later. My 50s neck has me spoiled.

those 57s in there aer awesome pickups, i wouldn't change them personally! nice guitar that. There was one in the local for £1000, couldnt talk him down though.

I'm looking forward to getting to grips with that 60s neck. :32:

Changing the pots in my '96 Standard was such a huge improvement that I think new pots and caps (RS kit probably) will be a must in this guitar.

I've heard plenty of good things about '57 Classics so I reckon those will stay in place in the first instance. Won't change 'em unless I HAVE to.

I love the look of Honeyburst LP (I'm having 1 made at the minute).

I was going to see how I get on with my Gordon Smith LP, and then recommend them to you if you were still after a guitar. Looks like you won't be needing me to do that now

Hope it plays and sounds as good as it looks

An old friend of mine, who I was in a band with when I was at school, has a purple Gordon Smith bass, serial number 0034! Actually I'm gonna go and scan a photo of it and post it here!

OK, this is my mate Paul with his purple Gordon Smith bass, serial number 0034. He bought it in a second-hand shop in Bournemouth for £150 in 1979! The pic was taken in 1980 - yes, we used to rehearse in a carpet warehouse!

I've ordered my Gordon Smith with a Light/Honey burst finish with a C5 bridge and a PGn. I should get it in a few weeks, so i'll be sure to make a post when I've given it a good work out
