OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

MonkeyDungologist
and will soon be selling some pedals!
was inspired to try them through new amps and speakers i've picked up since packing these away, and am quite amazed at how much my taste and "ear" has changed.

there's a mesa v-twin that i used to love, which now sounds harsh and fake (except the clean channel, which despite being the only all-valve channel AFAIK sounds dull and processed),
a BBE sonic stomp maximiser, the effects of which can be bettered by cleaning the jack on your guitar and going straight into a half-decent amp/cabinet with any decent cable under 10m in length,
a 535Q that i stupidly forgot to take the batteries out of and will now need to replace one of the connectors, which will be going on principle due needing 2x9V batteries and having too many switches and knobs,
an ibanez smash box that some gypsy traded me years ago for smoke,
and some behringer crap i impulse-bought very cheap to begin with, was profoundly unimpressed by, and am currently too disheartened to ever try again.

strangely, my EH big muff re-issue now sounds much more interesting than the 1/2 trick pony i originally believed it to be, and is the only one i'm not planning to liquidate a the earliest possible opportunity.

thanks for listening.

Can I call dibs on the Vtwin if you're selling it? I've wanted one for awhile now!

Re: OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

i'm a looooong way away
i'm australian, you see
and that's a long way to ride a marsupial

Re: OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

It should fit in a flat rate international box! I'm dead serious here. If this can be passably done, I'm willing.

Re: OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

V-twins are pretty picky about what you run them in front of, it's a full blown preamp, not just a distortion box.

If I wanted one these days shipping from AU wouldn't be an obstacle, they're getting hard to come by.

Re: OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

Ad...have you put fresh tubes in your v-twin? And are you coming to winter magic in the blue mountains in the 23rd? Big gig on!

yeah i know; i've bypassed preamps via effects loop etc before.
just sick of knobs and bateries, basically heh heh

i'm rostered on that weekend!! again!!
haven't tried tubes yet. kind of conflicted about this, given the amount of op-amps the signal will be going through anyway (wishy-washy and defeatist, i know).
starting to think i may as well have bought a fcking valvestate!!

i should clarify: it sounds the same as i remember, i just don't really dig it anymore

if i do decide to part with it... the aussies get first dibs (this is a pre-existing agreement and nothing personal), and then happyfingers can have his way with it.
except cam.

Re: OPD - pulled some pedals out of storage...

I have a crap load of pedals that I don't use and should get rid of. Pedals just piss me off now. I have no use for them and they ruin my tone when on and off. I've gone as far as to not even having my Polytune in my signal path because I can't deal with the extra cabling and resulting tone suck.
One good guitar, one good cable, one good amp & one good cab. Done.
