Open D & Open C string gauge....?

I'm setting up one of my 25.5" guitars for slide.

For those that play slide in either of these open tunings, what string gauge works best for you?


I will say that I don't want the high strings to be too thick for some bends.

For reference, I use 11-56 (24.75"s) & 11-54 (25.5"s) in D Standard/Drop C.

Those gauges should be fine for open D. You might want 12's for open C. I have 13's on my resonator in open E. This may help.http://www.mcdonaldstrings.com/stringxxiii.html
