Open Humbucker Covers for P-Rails.. Source and Fit Confirmation?

Hi Everyone!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

The forum search has spat out a couple of threads discussing this topic, but from how i've read them there weren't any conclusive answers.

I've emailed Mojotone and Phili. Luthier Tools about the open covers they stock and compatibility with P-Rails. I haven't heard back from MT, and PLT don't know.

Has anyone here actually bought and fitted open covers to P-Rails? and would be willing to share photos of the results?

I guess i could use the Custom Shop as a last resort but i don't want to bother those nice people.

I have. I think mine are from Philadelphia Luthier Supply. They don't quite come down to the baseplate, so you kind of have to pray they'll stay in place. The inner radius just just just barely intersects the rail corners.

Cheers mate that's just what i was after! They do look much better with the open cover. It's a shame they don't quite reach as i'd want to solder them to the base plate.

Maybe someone else out there has used the Mojotone ones?

That's a good shout, cheers! I've got the dims side by side with the P-Rail ones, looks like the covers may be a couple mm too short. Have you managed to solder the covers to the base plate?

*I've just realised that the P-Rails are a bit taller than regular HBs... so don't worry about that last question!

I put solid plastic covers on mine.

Looks sharp man! I'll be putting the P-Rails in a pair of LPs. The plastic covers won't suit the look i'm going for unfortunately.
