Opening Theme "A Bullet for Ruckus"

Re: Opening Theme "A Bullet for Ruckus"

nice, the guitars sound good, well recorded. what mic did you use?

i'd like to see it in the context of the movie.....you'll have to put it on youtube and show us when you are finished

Re: Opening Theme "A Bullet for Ruckus"

Many thanks for listening!

Larry, I used an Audio Technica AT2020 cardoid condenser into my Line 6 TonePort UX2. The mic sounds soooo amazing, it hardly takes or even needs much tweaking of preamps to get passable tones. It captures some pretty stunning vocals too; I recorded my friend singing a Fiona Apple song some weeks back, and a blind listen would have convinced me that she recorded it in a professional studio instead of my crappy little dorm room!
I do plan on putting the movie on YouTube, but overall, it's not going to be as epic as I had planned. The whole thing is supposed to be a mock of the greatest Spaghetti Westerns, but due to majorly limited filming time, I had to rush basically every shot. The story is choppy as all hell now, but I'll let you know when I finish :)

What a compliment, Rid! Hopefully ol' Angeleyes woulda thought so too...that is, if he's not rolling in his grave right now, hahah!
The girl in my avatar is Inoue Mao. She played Makino Tsukushi in the UBER popular and equally entertaining Japanese drama Hana Yori Dango. If you like anything about Japanese media, entertainment, or culture, you should definitely check it out. It's a super high quality show with some of the best cinematography (for shows OR films) that I've seen. There are free fan-subbed versions of it on the internet too(just PM me if you're interested and I can link you). But yeah, she's a really amazing actress and only a year older then me... hey hey! ;)

Thanks, StrangeSound! I should have you piano some of my songs since I am so horrible at it! Hahha, that'd be way cool. Give me your skills!

Re: Opening Theme "A Bullet for Ruckus"

Ah thanks Biu...will defently check that out, have heard something at a fansub page...my Japanese stinks too much to go by without subs:D
And once again...marvelous sound and indeed some very good playing!

Re: Opening Theme "A Bullet for Ruckus"

Yeah dude, that does sound great. Try taming the high end a bit... cheaper mics tend to have a way over exaggerated top end, and it can become a bit harsh when not treated properly.

Try out that Modern (Avalon 737) mic pre on the Toneport. That, the Vintage UK (Neve), and American Classic (API) should sound nice!
