Opinions needed on Rio Grande single coils...

I found a great deal on a mid-bottom set. Any thoughts on the Vintage Tallboys and Halfbreed?

I used the Tallboys with a JB in the bridge on my first strat hot rod mod. I like the Rios a lot as far as single coils go. Very "Piano" sounding, good for blues and blues type rock. I had that combo for quite awhile before I got tired of the JB and the single coil noise.

Rio makes good singles, but they are a bit steely sounding compared to Duncans. They will be bright and tight, with a lot of snap. I like them in alder and basswood, but I'd be cautious of putting them in ash.
