Opinions on a Guyatone pedal steel!

Hello everybody,

I recently found an old Guyatone pedal steel guitar in a pawn shop for about $120, which taking into account transporting and case would sum up to $200 approx. I heard that these guitars were made in Japan in the 70s & 80s, but they are no longer made, so it would be a rare instrument to have!

This guitar in particular seems not to have its strings replaced in a long time, and the potentiometers do have some noise, so I think a few adjustments should be done to it before playing it regularly. However, the pickups do work pretty well and I think after a little visit to the luthier it could sound well.

What is your opinion? Should I buy it? Or better try a new guitar instead of spending money in an old instrument? Do you think it can be a good pedal steel guitar, I mean, THE pedal steel guitar for me?

Thank you in advance!!
