opinions on blues junior

just wondering wat u guys think about the blues junior. it seems like a pretty good small tube amp. ill prolly make 600 sellin some old gear and invest in that. i heard the stock speaker sucks tho, so ill prolly get a greenback or one of those new eminence speakers. so basically im just wonderin if its worth it, or are there better small 15watt-ish tube amps around that price range? maybe carvin or somethin idk

It's supposed to be a great amp. I was going to get one, but i dont have the money so its going to be a behringer lx112.

yeah i dont have the money right now but ill prob have it by the end of july if not before. just let me kno if u still have it by then. i was gonna get it new but hey, why not save money?

What do people think of the Blues Junior? It's one of the amps I've heard the most complimentary comments about on this board since I've been a member...

Great amp
the only complaints that I have heard it that the power tubes are biased way too high.
and that the amp sounds a bit boxey sounding due to undersized cab.

I had mine sent to this guy to correct these issues although it can be a DIY mod.

The sound clips before and after mods say it all.

I got the amp lightly used condition on eBay for $275 and paid $130 for him to do the mods. I didn't want to damage anything by doing it myself

i played through one at a music store, i have nothing but good thing to say about it, if i had been in the market for a smaller amp though it would be sitting right here next to me.

I love mine. Stock, it's a pretty good amp but IMO, as well as others' opinions, it needed a little something. Most people say it's the speaker, which will probably make a difference. I didn't have the money for a new speaker, so I bought a new set of tubes. It made a world of difference. I may eventually change the speaker, but I'm pretty happy with it right now. And it's SO portable.
