Opinions on Jekyll and Hyde pedal?

Re: Opinions on Jekyll and Hyde pedal?

I've got one of the older grey ones. I mainly use the Jekyll side as a slightly dirty boost into my amp or Duplexer Plexitone prototype. I love the extra grunt it gives me. I do use the Hyde side occasionally for heavier tones, and it's good fun to use both sides together.

I just didn't like it at all - I came home with an Ibanez tubeking instead:banana:

Re: Opinions on Jekyll and Hyde pedal?

I think i miss-understood the question . . .

. . . i thought you asked for other "alternatives" to the J&H !

So i will answer it in that way, because i Do Not Like the J&H Anyways !!!

The J&H, as we know, is a 2-in-1 OD & Dist. unit, and i reeeally do not like the OD & the Dist side just sounds HORRIBLE to my ears !!!

I would go with the Toadworks DeathRattle any day !!!

Forget that they call the OD-Side, "Tweed" and the Dist-side "Plexi" !
Those are just names given to each, and does not mean it sounds spot-on to the amps of the same name(s) - still, both channels is Kick-@rse !!!

I would forget that the J&H is even on the market, and just go and get the twin-channel DeathRattle !!!

My 2 cents
;)
