Due to financial issues, downsizing from house to apartment and the fact my gigging days are behind me, I've sold a ton of gear over the past 3-4 years. However, as a gear hound and lover of all things guitar, I can't quit hunting for a deal and when I find one, figuring out a way to pay for it.
I came upon two good deals (or what I think are!) the other day, but would appreciate your opinions on them. First up is a mint (I mean like brand new) Crate V33 head and matching 2 X 12 cab in black tolex. I can get it for $300.00 (including tax) out the door. I have yet to try it out, but will today to make sure it works properly. Yay or nay? This one will be to flip as fast as I can and make a bit of $.
Second is a Yamaha G50 112 combo. I used a few of these back in the late 70's, early 80's and it seems to me some series were better than others. This one is also pristine....especially for it's age. It has the parametric eq and silver tolex. Never seen one in silver tolex and can't find any info online. It also has the original footswitch. I tried it out for a few minutes and it sounds darn good and LOUD! I can get this one for $100 out the door. Again, I'll be looking to flip it, but not sure if there is any $ left in it. Great amp that has no resale value.
