I want to buy a new electric solidbody guitar. I want a good and very versatile one so it will be most likely a humbucker with push/pull. I play rhytm mostly and dont bend much so I wolud love a C shape neck with 9rad. I have 1.3k no more no less and will not getting any more soon. What should i look for?

With that radius, there aren't many, if any Gibson style guitars for you, so you'll probably have to go with a Fender-style guitar. I'd get some sort of HSS Strat. Maybe the new Black Paisley Strat would float your boat. I love mine, even stock.

Re: Opinions

A HSS config is not for me because I also need a humbucker in the neck. The thing about the neck is I just don't bend much so i don't really need 12rad. And my hand is not that big with larger rad my hand will not be that comfortable when playing a lot barre chord than playing with a smaller rad. But I guess it's no big deal to try right? so opinions .

Re: Opinions

FWIW, I've never found bending any harder or easier on any particular radius. Bar chords, no real difference for me until you get into the very flat fretboards, flatter than 12" radius.

If you can deal with a 12" radius, look at G&L Tribute Legacy HBs. Look for NOS older models, not the newest ones. They just changed them to HSS, but there are still older types in stores. Great, versatile guitars for the money. They are basswood HHH Strat clones, but the middle and neck HBs are small dual rail types. The coil splitting is built in from the factory.

If you could go to for a used guitar instead of a new one, you might really like the Dave Murray signature Strat. HSH with a 9.5 radius and soft V neck (great for barring IMO), but an over all classic Strat look. It's basically a hot-rodded '57 AVRI (since Murray's is a hot-rodded '57). It's right at the edge of your price limit, though, and that's on the used market.

FWIK, the flatter the rad the easier to bend long sustaining note like when people shred.
I've tried a charvel sandimas i think it's MIJ and it has 12rad and it strains my hand a lot when I play some barre chords. But, I don't really know whether its because the thin neck or the rad.

Re: Opinions

@chris of arabia thx for the input but I would like to test a guitar first before buying because if the guitar has dead spots I won't buy it.

I think I will buy a gibson lespaul studio. Anyone here has a 2012 les paul studio? Do gibson's QC still a joke?

I've tried gibsons that were garbage and I've tried gibsons that were worth their weight in gold. Go to a guitar center if you can and try all the guitars that look somewhat aesthetically pleasing to you. I highly recommend you try a PRS Mira or Starla if you see one, they have dual humbuckers, a 10" radius and an interesting neck profile you might like.

@youngtrasher9 wow.. that prs mira is a goodie a must try and fit my budget nicely. btw how do you know about the rad in the web it says nothing about it. And what's the difference between mira and mira x?
