Ordered a hybrid today

I can't wait for it to get here. I talked to BachToRock on the phone today and he gave me some great suggestions on a hybrid for the bridge position of my Strat. Peter is very knowledgable and helpful on the subject of pups and gear in general and he steered me toward my selection. I'm getting a Nickel covered 59/Custom hybrid with an A5 magnet. Its gonna have the screw coil as a single coil when split to match up with my SSl-1's. I'll shoot a little review once I get it and put some miles on it.:banana: :dance: :fingersx: :smokin:

I don't think you'll be dissapointed man. Just about everyone on here who has tried the hybrids love them.

What's so good about them? Aren't there problems from using two different coils?

You can tailor a pickup to suit your sound. I wanted a nice creamy sounding bucker with a split tone that would sound good with an SSl-1. If you want more info I would PM BachToRock, he can explain the benefits in greater detail.

No problems from using two different coils. You just get a different sound and some screamin harmonics.

BTW you using the Custom or the 59 as the screw coil? I used the Custom on mine and it sounds great.
