Ordered new power tubes...problem

...ok I ordered new power tubes last month. Supposed to be JJs but the packet disappeared on its way somehow. So I got in touch with the store and he said he would send a new packet. Ok cool, that was 2 days ago, it arrived today.but not JJs =/

Those cost a bit more than JJs, so I got these tubes for a less price but are they ok? My Screamer is a bit "high-rangy" and I thought JJs could tame the upper frequencies.

Both have a "Okt 61" which means they are matched? The number under the "made in Russia" is different on the other tube. I was on the Svetlana site but this tube has no Svetlana logo..is it a rip off?

Those are SED =C= (winged C) tubes. i dont know about their 6L6, but their EL34s are highly regarded by most people. they say Bogner prefer the SED EL34 on his EL-34 amps.

I used =C= KT88s in my Splawn for the better part of a year. They sounded good to me for a while, but after recently switching back to JJ's I realized just how much better (for me) the JJ's KT88s sound.

I find the =C= tubes to have more high end and they seemed more compressed in my amp.

FWIW, I use Those Winged C SEC (NOT the same as the current SED Tubes) in my Twin Reverb and LOVE THEM...great tubes with killer tone, I like them a lot in fact!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I stick with the =C= (got it cheaper ehehe) and go next time with JJs. I have to make experience with tubes so I'll stick with it.

Could you tell us which tube supplier messed that up? (um..packet disappeared? = that's fishy)

You should get JJ's if you order them. Even though they are good tubes IMO (My fav 6L6), you didn't get what you ordered. I would avoid that tube supplier in the future.

You may need to order SED 6L6's to get JJ's.

No, those are perfectly good 6L6's and you shouldn't be disappointed at all.
If you're trying to tame highs, I think those tubes are actually warmer on the top end than JJ's. I had those in a Fender Pro Tube Concert Reverb and loved them. They actually cost about $5 or $10 more than JJ's, so the distributor did not screw you..... he substituted for something just as good.

The store is cool but the parcel service they use sucks. DPD..I think Zerb knows what I'm talking about.

I have JJs all the way as preamp tubes (except V3) so I think the SEDs will fit.
I think I will bring the amp to an amp tech today and he should bias them. I took a picture of the tubes and I've got one question. One tube seems to glow a bit more..that means it gets more power?

I've let it run for some seconds only and I installed the old tubes back again but I think the amp is not biased correctly since day one..I think the sound will improve after the new bias setting.

I believe the Wing Cs are the better lot compared to JJs
Abit off the topic, but is your twin the reissue ?
