The pre stain conditioner helps prevent too much absorption of the dye or stain so there's less chance of blotching or mismatch.

I didn't use it on the front and back because it was recommended that you don't use pre stain conditioner on roasted wood.

There is one issue with this guitar that should be addressed. A normal Gibson slotted nut won't work. I had to special order a taller Graph Tech slotted nut from Graph Tech Labs to clear the frets. I haven't been able to set up, intonate or hear what they guitar will sound like.

I used a capo on the first fret, adjusted the bridge and intonated the guitar using the 13th fret. I just had to hear how the guitar sounded plugged in. It sounded glorious.

I slotted the new nut, set up and intonated her. She is a screamer.
