Ordering Fender necks

Hello,

Found the ideal strat neck for me, and I want to replace the neck on my strat.

Anyone know how expensice it is to replace a strat neck with a new genuine Fender neck. Like Modern C shape with jumbo frets, maple board, light polyurethane coat.

Re: Ordering Fender necks

Used to be you had to send them your old one and then pay list for the new one...such a deal. Fender in Scottsdale wanted to give me some Tele and Strat necks and they still wanted my old ones...Go aftermarket and buy a decal if you really need one or check Ebay.

I don't think I'll be able to get exactly what I want without going Fender.

My 2 cents: if I was going to get another neck, I'd get a Lite Ash neck (eBay if available) or go with Warmoth.

Re: Ordering Fender necks

You will be able to get exactly what you want, and many other options by ordering from Warmoth, USAG or Musikraft. All will do many more options than Fender, and the price will be more reasonable. $200-400 from any of these other companies will cover a basic neck up to a fairly custom neck with premium flamed woods if you want, and even a finish.

I suggest www.musikraft.com . I spec'd out a premium flame maple neck, premium flame maple fingerboard, traditional truss rod and skunkstripe, frets of my choice and rolled fingerboard edges (just like fender) WITH A NITRO FINISH...all for $400. You can't get a neck like that from anywhere...let alone Fender for that price. Then you can have a Fender Decal put on.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for this info, Jeff. I was concerned about the rolled fingerboard edges as the biggest issue for me. That neck I played in the store the other day made it a breeze for me to play, and I believe I really want one of those to play at this point.

The idea that Warmoth and others make them to spec, and they are less expensive, is very helpful.

I am really grateful for this board. It would be much harder to learn this information without the internet!
