Other bass forums?

Re: Other bass forums?

Not sure whether this qualifies as cork-sniffery, but several years ago I posted details about the mods I made to my '76 Rick 4001S, which I bought new off the rack and will likely never sell. I was unhappy with a lot of aspects of it, researched it quite thoroughly, and believe I made some good choices. Now it's something I like using from time to time.

I posted these details to a forum dedicated to that brand and the reaction was as if I had committed some heinous crime against nature. I never returned.

I never realized I was such an oddity (when it comes to this topic at least): I own 7 basses, have never sold any I owned, and have modified all but two in some way (usually pickups, but sometimes more extensively). Never knew that making modifications was less prevalent among bass players.

This forum has always provided a wealth of information. I do use the search function before asking, don't expect anyone to go out of their way to solve complex problems, and always, always, thank those who respond.

On the off chance that I can provide any useful information I do so.

Isn't this what it should be about?

Re: Other bass forums?

Nobody said disappear, only not able to repair, which is different.

Three weeks on and things have been cleaned up - to the point of becoming sterile.

Diminished, diluted, dumbed down.

It would appear that a little pollution may be in order. May I suggest this
I want to know what this dude is using for a bass rig.

Re: Other bass forums?

So what would the fix be for these apparent doldrums? Other than some pollution?
