Out of phase pickup clips?

Hey, I just watched a video on the gibson custom site that has page doing an interview with his #1 les paul and he talks about his pushpull knobs for getting the guitar out of phase. He says he used these on a bunch of songs and get him that BB King/peter green tone, Could someone post some clips of their guitar out of phase(via push/pull pots, not reversed magnet) or at least a description of what it does to the sound, is out-of-phase suitable for bridge and neck or is it mainly for neck? Just curious, because if it sounds good I think it would be a fun little option to have. O ya, heres the page interview if anyone wants to watch it: http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/home.htm

Re: Out of phase pickup clips?

they explained the out of phase sound as sharper, thin and said that bb king used out of phase pickups but I've always that bb king had a really dark mellow tone? Also if I wanted to have the option to have my les paul regular but also be able to get out of phase sounds and I wanted to do it the push/pull pot way, do I need 2 push/pulls for both pickups or one? and when the push/pull is enganged do both pickups have to be on? thanks

Re: Out of phase pickup clips?

You'd need one push/pull. Out of phase usually refers to two pickups, so it would only work for the middle position. Listen to the clips, they are good illustrations.
