Re: Out of phase wiring.
Interesting idea about the manual - always wondered why they never had one before :lol:
Anyway, those directions make no sense to me:
Flip the magnet so the pickup is normally out of phase, then spin the magnet 180° in the ring, then reverse the wiring.
Flipping the magnet puts the pickup out of phase, so flipping the green/black does what? Puts it right back like you had it to begin with.
Might try swapping the braid and lead of my EMG 89 - see if I can get some phasing going on - or if a 9v will explode :lol:
hi, the Haynes les paul manual (like a car mechanic manual for the guitar) says the the best way to get the 'hollowness' is to flip the magnet (out of phase) reverse the pickup in it's surround (semi phase corrected) and then reverse the green and black wires to wire it out of phase again.
