Out-of-phase

Hi all,

I have a question about combining pickups in my tele. I have installed an AlnicoII in the bridge position and to have it combine well with the stock Fender neck pickup I have reversed the wires and cut the jumper-wire from the bottom plate as the manual indicated.

Now I have a Vintage Tele (STR-1) on the way to replace the stock neck pickup. Should I also reverse the wires and cut the jumper-wire on this one to have it in phase with the AlnicoII?

Thanks!

Re: Out-of-phase

Desolder the jumper for the cover then attach a new lead to the cover solder point and solder the other end to ground

Thanks for your response! So if I understand correctly I dont reverse the wires on the Vintage but just desolder the jumper and ground the cover?

Re: Out-of-phase

I would wire it up to see if it's out of phase. If it is switch the wires then desolder the cover jumper and wire it to ground.
