Re: Out of these, which do you think is best?

It has bass, middle and treble controls. Doesn't the other amps mentioned only have a single tone control?

Oh, thanks.
Eh... no... just a volume knob. LOL. As basic as you can get.

Re: Out of these, which do you think is best?

I'll chime in here for the Champion 600, I bought one and I haven't looked back. All I did was change the cheap chinese tubes for Tungsol tubes. That made a night and day difference. Yeah it has a 6" speaker, so what. I run mine through a 1 x 12cab and it sounds great, very fender-y. The Blues Jr is good but in my situation it gets to loud before the tubes start breaking up, with the Champ I get that tube od and it sounds great. As far as the tone controls I'm fine with that I can adjust my guitar tone to get what I want. Just my $0.02, in all I've played all the mentioned amps and all are good in thier own respects, the Champ 600 just was a better choice for me.

And we have a new contender, thanks to V!n.

Fender Frontman 25R:

$229.99 would become 207€
25 watts, 10 inch speaker, two channels, reverb, full controlls.

Pros: Looks like the more "pro" of the bunch, price is the lowest of all, sound seems quite nicer than the others, exception being to the BJ where I'd say it's close (then again I haven't played them myself, only from clips), metal corners.
Cons: Only non tube but I can live with that, just afraid all SS's sound like the Eko. Maybe it also has too much.

Becomming my favourite and from what V!n tells me, one can get a good tone at a low volume.

Anyone has an opinion on it or care to change their votes to this one?

I'll change my vote from "non of the above" to this one. :) I got one traded it the other week and I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of it ! Remember that the goal of this thread is to advice Luis a good sounding amp for his bedroom that won't upset the house or the neighbours.

The Frontman does that job better than the tiny tube amps with a much better sound, more features and at a lower price.

Re: Out of these, which do you think is best?

I'm happy with my Blues Jr, even if I can't play it as much as I'd like.

I have that one. It's a POS compared to my Blues Jr. I wouldn't buy it, even for the price.

Re: Out of these, which do you think is best?

The Blues Jr is a great amp, if you do the Billm mods. (google Billm mods) It truly becomes a "boutique" quality amp with great tone, picking dynamics and punch. The Value jr is a really cool little amp and if you're going to gig with it through a house PA is cool too (better. if you use 2 of them) Personally, I would go with he Bjr, it's more powerful and has more tone options. I have modded 8 Bjrs to Bllm specs and everyone loves their "new" amp. Buy a used one and mod it. See if you can find one with a broken reverb, everyone sells those cheap and they are super easy to fix.
Good luck

Re: Out of these, which do you think is best?

I know who Bill Machrone is. I used to lurk around at the MIMF and occasionally post, great guy.

I have decided. I'm getting the Frontman. Probably get it from Thomann, where I can get it for a lot less (I assume, they don't have this one right now).

I have also decided something else. I'm also getting the Blues Junior but at a later date. ;)

My thinking is something better than the Eko that won't blow my budget and later on getting something for when I can plug in and not mind about anyone else.

Thanks for all the input, folks.
