We can repair pickups pretty cheaply if you don't want to further disassemble it. Just contact us for an RMA number. These things are usually pretty cheap, and worth doing on a nice pickup like that (if you don't want to start unraveling it).

Hahaha Its already taken down to just the wound coils - I'm good to go down to that point I am all cozy taking some winds off and re doing it but if its deeper than that ... No big deal - where I work - we make capacitors mostly - but some other components as well - one of those has a wound toroid that we make in house ... the girls that do them to very tight tolerances I bet can help me out - haha I just ordered that shirt - its me all the way -

So it was easier than I thought
I only had to take 6 winds off before I got good readings - I went 2 more off so 8 total . Numbers are good and its all back together ready to go in one of the other slabs of wood I have here ( maybe a tele )
Pretty much I lucked out I guess that the damage was not deep in the pickup.

Did you actually see the damage? I would imagine it might be too small to actually see.

could not see it I just pulled some turns off cut and tested did it twice and it was all good - i imagine i can take the cut wire to work and look at it under one of the scopes and see what the deal was

Yeah, you couldn't really see it, I am guessing- but I am happy it is now working, and it wasn't a much bigger problem.
