Boss SD1 and mod it yourself or have it modded. I did the monteallums set and I got a way more transparent boost, with less of a bass and high cut.

Interesting idea.
I bought a bunch of IC's from Mouser to try in the Eternity. JRC4559 comes with the box. It has more bandwidth than the 4558 that's used in the Tubescreamers. TLO72 is really cool for more boost and less hair. There were some others as well. Texas Instruments has one that's just intense.

I prefer the Maxon OD9. A tiny bit less bluesy, but the tradeoff is alot more versatility (great thick metal tones, which I absolutely need to kick my amp in the arse)
