P-90 Rifffage Once again

This is a little riff I came up with that's kind of spacey in the middle parts. All the rhythms were recorded with a Gibson Les Paul Junior with P-90's. The spacey part and the lead fill were recorded with a Gibson Les Paul with the stock 500T/496R pickups. It's decent I reckon. I'm still not sure about the overall mix. I think it may be a little bass heavy, but that's cool.:) Enjoy!!

You nailed, with the rythm, the tone that I've been searching for. That was a killer distorted, yet clean, sound - if you know what I mean.

The recording was great too. So what amp was that, and how did you record? Was an amp mic'ed? Or what.

Man I REALLY DIG THAT. You have a great melodic sense... I love that little wow chord wow, wow, wow on the 1 beat.

The mix is a touch boomy, but very close.

Good stuff!!

Thanks Artie!! I try to get a sound that is a "killer distorted, yet clean, sound", so I knew what you meant.;)

The amp was my trusty ole Line6 AX2/212. It's what I always use to play and record with. I record using the line out on all my stuff.

Thanks Kev. I find it a bit boomy too. That's kinda why I mentioned that. I was struggling to find a mix I liked. It seemed like I was either overpowering the guitars in the main riff, or there wouldn't be any bass in the spacey part. I just kinda went with it and said the hell with it. If it was anything special, I'd just re-record the bass....but it's just riff crap in my head I record so I don't forget them.

ummmmmm......thanks guys...I'm totally overwhelmed...this really doesn't/didn't sound nowhere as good as I thought it would've/should've. Also, I think I've really gotten alot better sound as well. I do totally appreciate yall's comments...it means alot..mucos gracias!!

Wow, very cool stuff.
I can totally hear the singer from the band Loudmouth singing over this stuff.
In case you've never heard of Loudmouth, musically, they were a combination of old Rush, Sabbath, Budgie, and Free, and totally rocked!!!

Modeled Marshall JCM800 w/ a modeled Tube Screamer in front, greenbacks, some chorus, and plenty of Reds and whisky!!;):)
