p-90 vs. p-90 stack

Is there any difference in the tone between the two? I'm not going to be getting any pickups anytime soon, but I was planning my dream guitar earlier today, and I love the sound of the p-90, but I can't stand 60-cycle hum. I know chris kinman has done incredible things in making silent single coils, but he doesn't make any p-90's. So, I was just curious about how the p-90 stack seymour makes sounds (in comparison to the regular p-90)

Re: p-90 vs. p-90 stack

I have owned the Duncan Vintage P90, Custom P90, and P90 Stack. They're all great pickups; however, IMO, only the vintage P90 gets close to true P90 tone. The Custom is little grainy sounding. Now the P90 Stack is fat fat fat and smooth and warm..... It is an awesome pickup.

One other thing.... The P90 stack is physically deeper than the normal P90 due to its stacking. I had to route my Les Paul Deluxe's pickup cavities a bit deeper to accommodate.

I really don't mind the hum. The Gibson P-100's are NOT good stacked 90's. And I have a guitar with a vintaghe and a custom. I really like the custom - but it's my blues/rock pup for that guitar, so I can see, and again, don't mind the grain. Sorry - not helpful. Nothing beats a real P-90 IMO.
