P-Bass Pickup Replacement - Need Help

Hello! I am new to this forum. I currently have an Fender American Standard P-Bass. I am going to replace the stock pickups with the SPB3-QtrPnd pickups. I have never done this before. Does anyone have experience with changing out the pickups on a P-Bass? Can you provide specific instructions on what do do? Thanks!

welcome to the forum!!

the qp is a great pup. ive used it on a few basses that ive built and put it in a few others. to replace that pup, unsolder the two wires coming off the old pup and solder in the two new ones on the qp.
thats it :)

Jeremy,
Thanks! I was wondering, instead of soldering, could I cut the existing stock pickup wires, then splice those wires with the qtr pnd wires (using an electrical plastic cap)? Would this work as well?

you could but i wouldnt suggest it. its kinda bulky and fine wire like those used on pups tend to break

solder it my friend

I use a late 90's P-Bass with the QP and it sounds awesome!
Good luck.
