P-Rails and Fender S-1 Switch

Yes, another P-Rails wiring question...

I want to put P-Raiis into an HSH strat. This guitar already has the S-1 switch and the 5-way super switch. There is also a hole already drilled for a mini toggle as well. She's already a bit of a science fair project so I'll drill more if I have to...

If I use a single toggle (3-way, on-off-on) to switch from humbucker to p-90 to single coil, can I then use the S-1 to switch from series to parallel mode on the P-Rails? The S-1 appears to be two separate dpdt on-on switches ganged together (http://www.fenderforum.com/userphotos/index.html?recid=9044).

Has anybody used an S-1 in any configuration with P-Rails?

Re: P-Rails and Fender S-1 Switch

Thanks, I was watching that thread. Definitely getting closer. I am left a little confused about the wiring of the P-rails and the "P-Rails Wiring Explanation" doesn't really go far enough.

What exactly are each of the different colored conductors? When selecting for P-90, are you grounding out the SC and vice versa?

Re: P-Rails and Fender S-1 Switch

Thanks for the responses, Hermetico.

So I definitely want option #1. So, there's a 3-way DPDT for coil selection and the S-1 (4pdt) puts the coils of both P-rails in series respectively. All Pups remain wired parallel to each other. There is also a five-way for standard pup selection (bridge, bridge+mid, bridge+neck, mid+neck, and neck).

Do-able?????

Thanks,

Joel

Wow, that's amazing. Thanks! I did forget to mention that I have a single master tone control. I can prolly figure that out. Could you please explain the markings on the S-1 there so I'm sure I understand how it's laid out?

BTW, what are you using to draw these diagrams?

Thanks again,

Joel
