I have been tempted to try them but the clips on this site didn't blow me away that much, although the humbucker tone was better than I expected...

Thanks for your help:cool2:

As Tony the Tiger says... "They Gggrrrrreat!"

Make sure you also get Triple Shot with them!

Re: P-Rails, general consensus???

I like them. A pair with the triple shots will make a very versatile guitar

Re: P-Rails, general consensus???

They are a great set of pickups, with well behaved tones. The P90 mode is not really as raunchy or hairy as a real Gibson P90. The humbucker tone is really satisfying. The humbucker mode could be sold as a pickup model all on it's own! Since the HB mode is adds a small coil to the P90 mode, the difference in volume between the two modes is not that noticeable.

The output volumes are a modern medium, and a pleaser if you are into using the volume knobs. The highs don't really get dulled down, like most other pickups. Use 500K pots to get all the detail out of them. YMMV. I like metal/Gibsons/Boogies.

Re: P-Rails, general consensus???

For Stratty and P90tiey sounds the StraBro90 is better. Of course there you don't get humbucker sounds, neither parallel nor series.

The P-Rails was more Hifi for my taste.

Re: P-Rails, general consensus???

I really like the P-Rails with Triple Shots in my Epi LP. I really liked the P-90 sound most initially but I've found myself using primarily the bridge in series and the neck on the rail setting. Overall, a very versatile combination.
