P-Rails in a lefty G&L Legacy 2HB ?

Hi all,
I have a few questions about the P-Rails pickups, well more specifically about the guitar I hope to get them in.

The guitar is a left handed G&L Legacy 2HB, with a JB Model TB-4 as standard in the bridge.

Questions as follows

1. Is the P-Rails string spacing correct for the G&L ?
2. Are the P-Rails staggered for right handed guitars, do I need a lefty version ?
3. Will the guitar need to be routed to accommodate the P-Rails ?

I won't be doing the wiring myself, I am in Ireland and the guitar is in the US, I hope to get the work done before getting it shipped and would like to find out some info before I buy the pickups.

Thanks.

Re: P-Rails in a lefty G&L Legacy 2HB ?

I'm pretty sure the P-Rails P-90 coil is a screw coil, so that would make the stagger custom to what you set it, and the rails coil is a rail, and I haven't heard of SD offering a "lefty P-Rails" so I'd say no to question 2. As per #1, Most of their pickups you can order in standard or TB spacing, though if the poles are slightly off it doesn't really matter, at least not as far as my ears can tell. And as for routing, the P-Rails is a standard humbucker sized pickup, so it should fit just fine in an HH guitbox.

Btw, G&L's rock!!

Thanks for the response FP, I think I will go ahead and order them.
Next up is to find a wiring scheme that gives all of the options, HB, P90,rails, and parallel.
As the G&L has a proprietary PTB passive bass and treble set up I will need to use mini switches, well the tech that will be doing it as the guitar is not shipped to me yet.
Should find that around here somewhere !

Thanks again.

First = Contact Frank at SD for your pups.
Second = Don't mess with the G&L PTB setup, Leo Fender finally got it right with that setup.

Three = Enjoy and welcome to the SD Forum

i had a legacy guitar and always was unhappy just because it didn't have the big "F" on the guitar but for my money if i had to put a humbucker in a strat i would go with phat cats(because its shielded) or even better would be the peter green custom shop set
