P Rails Install Frustration

I purchased a set of P Rails for my PRS S2 Mira. I am pretty good at soldering/wiring, but I have run into a ridiculous amount of problems, and I am getting frustrated. After initially installing the pups, things weren't right so I literally went through and re-did EVERYTHING. I am following the SD wiring guide for P Rails with a single Volume and a single Tone (both Push-Pulls), and the adaptation diagram for a three way blade switch. My bridge pickup is loud, snarly, and seems to be fine. The neck pickup is thin, shrill and relatively quiet compared to the bridge. It is giving me output, just not what I would expect (I did play with pickup height to no avail). As I have done this twice now, and the bridge seems to check OK, any advice where to start chasing this down? I did test the pup itself with a multi-meter, and it is producing the expected output per SD specs. I am thinking I must be missing something obvious here (which, in my case, would NOT be a surprise!).

Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: P Rails Install Frustration

Sounds like the factory may have accidentally wired one of the neck pickup coils out of phase. A quick troubleshoot would be, on the neck pickup, to reverse the red and green wires. In other words, wherever the red wire is now, put the green one there instead, and put the red where the green was.

If that works, then it's up to you whether you want to call Duncan and ask for a warranty replacement.

Yup, that's what I had with my P-Rails - a search here for my posts will turn up the thread from a few years back where I worked it out.
