P-Rails set Les Paul Wiring diagram - maximum options without the triple shots ?

Hi All,

Want to put the SD P-rails set in my Les Paul without the triple shots, aiming to have the maximum / most versatile options (9) available. Have the standard wiring diagram with 2 push/pulls , only 4 options. https://www.gallery4k.com/les-paul-wiring-schematic-seymour-duncan/

Is it possible to extend these by using an extra pair of push-pull potentiometers, so 4 in total (2 volume, 2 tone)?

If so, what's the wiring diagram?

Many thanks,

Peter

So series, parallel, and coil cut, with the choice of which coil is being used. And all of this independent of each other. I haven't seen a diagram like that, though I would think anything would compromise some independence.

There's a duncan drawing somewhere that uses 4 push-pulls in place of triple shots and gives all the same options. I can't find it, but if you notice on this drawing, each pickup is only using half or one side of each switch, so all you have to do is use 4 push-pulls and move each pickup onto it's own set of push-pulls.

It's this. It actually is not a Duncan diagram, but either anonymous independent or Dirk Wacker of Premier Guitar, just can't remember which, as I have had it downloaded on my phone for a long time.

The diagram uses two push-pulls to yield all the options of a Tripleshot for a single pickup. So like Beau said, you can duplicate it for the other pickup.

(sorry, the pic upload isn't working right now...I am hoping to have this fixed soon).

Thanks all, also found this diagram, Can this work? https://i.imgur.com/suH50Xc.png (seems I can't upload att. ?)
Is this the diagram you are asking about? If yes, its got a couple errors in it. The person who person created it says in the Reddit post that you linked to, that they were just learning about guitar wiring, so its understandable that they made some mistakes

But anyways, there's no need to use it since there is already a seymour duncan diagram that does the same thing with 4 push pulls. Take a look for it on the seymour duncan website. There is one issue with the seymour duncan diagram, however, which is that the way the coilsplitting is designed, when its set to P90 coil only mode, its done in a way that is susceptible to picking up RFI noise, because it connects the Red wire to hot, so Red wire is like a live antenna in that scenario.

Separately, just for documentation purposes, the errors I quickly spotted (there may be more) in that Reddit diagram, is that the output of each pair of push-pulls is being sent to the 3 way pickup selector switch instead of two each pickups respective volume pot.

I just finished doing a fresh review of this diagram. I spotted that it is suspectible to RF noise interference in Rail coil only mode, because it connects the Black wite to hot, so Black wire can act like a live antenna.

Thank you Jack for your input. Only I cannot find the 4 push/pulls scenario on the Seymour Duncan website (wiring diagrams) . Only 2 push/pulls either on 2 volumes or on 2 tones.

You can use the one I posted in #4. The only way to get all 4 modes of a humbucker and avoid the potential noise issue I identified earlier is to use a 3rd switch, the 3rd being a 4PDT. Which probably isn't an option for most folks.

The noise concern I'm talking about only surfaces when the room/enviroment being played in is bad, like having neon or flourescent lights, refrigerator or other motors on the circuit, bad wiring.
