P-Rails wiring issue

So, I recently had P-Rails put into my guitar by a technician. The problem is, I think the wiring was done incorrectly and that the tech did a sloppy job. I asked him to use the schematic I gave, which is the 2 push-pull pots (option 2). The first problem I noticed was that he put the push-pulls in the volume positions rather than the tone positions as outlined by the schematic. I figured it probably wouldn't make a difference (I don't know anything about wiring), and took it home and tried it out.

I notice that I seem to only be getting 3 tones out of the guitar (series humbucker, P-90 and rails I think), rather than 4. When the two are down I get what is obviously the series humbucker, and when the neck pot is up and the bridge is down, I get the rails, and the both up I get what I think is the P-90, and I don't hear any difference between both of them being down and the bridge pot being up by itself.

Now, I live in Jamaica, and this guy is the only tech around, as far as I know, and I don't think he wired them properly. Do any of you know what might be wrong? I took a few pictures of the opened control cavity, I don't know what you'll be able to gather from them, but hopefully you can give me some answers.

Re: P-Rails wiring issue

I can't see your pictures, but it sounds like he used the wrong diagram. There is a diagram on line that shows one push/pull activating the "single coil" operation, and the other push/pull chosing which coil (P90 or Rail) That means when the first push/pull is off, the second does nothing at all. It simply pre-selects which coil will be on when the first one is pulled. I can't see your pictures in the thread, but it sounds like that's what happened. You could take it back to him with the right diagram and see what he does.

if he's the only tech around and he doesn't do very good work you may want to invest in learning how to solder...
