P90 mounting question

On the Gibson P90 (non-dog ear) pickups they sometimes call surface-mount, how do they mount to the guitar? And, is there any height adjustment on them? Ive looked @ a few pictures and it looks like for the most part there are flat on the bottom with no eyelets for mounting screws or anything.... Anyone have any experience with that type?

These days there is a piece of foam under them and you press against it with the screws going through them.

Real man P-90 guitars have them sit tight on the wood but that's rare.

Definatly-but on the P90's without the dog-ears, where do you screw the pickups in @?? Its like there are no eyelets on the non-dog-ear styled ones..

Two screws through the middle of the pickup. They look like polepieces.

There's also the stapler clip soapbars which have adjustable magnet height.

Ahhh!! Now I get it-they are the 2 holes in the center of the pickup! Makes sense now- So to adjust the height you actually need to put spacers under the pickup?

People usually use foam under them.

Myself, I would probably make a wood spacer screwed into the body after I carefully measure string height and best distance.

+1. This would give the best tones. You'd think a manufacturer would have made something for this, in a few sizes so you could get the right height.
