I have a Tele Custom II (Squier) that I'm "rebuilding". Before anyone asks "why bother", I do it because I can, it's cheap, and I end up with better guitars than most players spend $900 for just to get the logo, with a little work and a minor investment.
My question is: I want to change the 2 tone / 2 volume control pot set-up to a 2 tone / single volume (like a Strat). Is there anything different in the way of grounding, shielding, resistors, etc. I need to do because these are P90 style pickups?
I'm making a new tortoise shell pickguard, changing the pots and switches to Switchcraft units, dressing the frets, and sheilding the cavities as well.
Thanks for any advice.
