Paf Pro did I make a good choice?

Yea asking a dimarzio question on the duncan forum.Next I'll go to the Dodge forum and ask why my chevy won't start.:scratchch
Anyways I scored a Dimarzio Paf pro for a good price.I needed a F spaced replacement for my bridge humbucker in my HSS squier strat and this one popped up.
How does this pickup sound for southern rock,blues rock........straight into an overdriven Marshall,Orange etc...
The guitar is agathis.I allways found the stock pickup kinda decent,but too dark not enough highs.How does paf pro blend with mid/neck singles?

I played a floral Ibanez Jem for many years with PAF Pros and loved the tone. I even swapped them out for a while because I always fancied myself more of a Duncan guy. But the Dimarzios kept coming back. Very versatile and sounded great split as well. For the kind of music you mention you will probably be happy with the PAF Pro.

Cool,I kinna figured I needed something lowish output and the paf pro seemed within range.So befor I bought it I hunted around on dimarzio.com and seen this is sposed to have like a bit more treble and less mids than a paf.So I figured more treble can't hurt as the guitar now is slightly muddy with the medium output cheapo bucker in it now.

They're not a bad pickup but something like a Breed bridge or Breed neck (it's a fatter warmer PAF-Pro) is more my liking. I love the Bluesbucker in the bridge of a guitar that's not too bright. The Norton and Air Norton also make great bridge pups.

I love PAF Pro's. They are my all time fav. Dimarzio pickups. Reason why? Has the right blend of distortion and sounds really nice clean. They gel well with pretty much any effects and amps out there. This pickup is PAF-ish, but modernized to suite many different situations. I think Dimarzio tweaked this pickup to sound better in basswood, but overall sounds great in pretty much any wood. It's not like a JB, where its sounds amazing in some guitars and then can sound like complete opposite in others.
