RG420, nice. Ridiculously good price on it. Looks like the bridge pu might be an old V2.
It's not binding, btw, it's a burst finish. They offered that on a number of models, and later on the Radius guitars (red/black and blue/black variants).

Pretty much all Ibanez pups from the late 70s to 1987 came with the 2+1 height screw arrangement. Super 70s came with a slug/screw poles; the V2 came with double hex screws, like so.
Early open coil Super 70s came like this, bit like the pups that were in the old Yamaha SGs. Later on the changed them so they were like regular buckers
Pic sucks for detail so it could be either I suppose...

Early Roadstars had Super 70s though... Double creme, too, afair. And that was the late, 80s (year not name) model version, not the mid-70s ones that looked unlike anything else. Familiar with those, have a zebra set of the oldies myself.

Pulling the neck i get, but why pull both??? Also, afaik, most destroyers had one super 70 only, the other being a Super-smthnelse (58, mb 80) or V2 even... As to the modern reissie, that one had ZERO super 70s (which, after a whole host of other problems and inaccuracies, just drives the final nail in its coffin)

^^ Depends on the model and the year. Some had V2 in both positions, like Kramersteen's; some had Super 58 in the neck, V2 in the bridge (1981-84 top of the line Destroyers, Rocket Rolls and Icemen); some even had Super 70/V2 combo (1981 DT50).

If circumstances were different, maybe, but...
1. I already have a HH guitar, and tend to prefer single coil in the neck these days.
2. I have a single pup version of this.
3. Two black guitars is already too many, even though this one is much cooler with the burst edge.
4. Gotta stop buying sh!t for the next few years, as I've already got a couple of good guitars.
5. Live in the UK now, which means anything coming in that's worth over £30 or something gets slapped with VAT, more the higher the price of said thing. Have to rethink the whole buying from outside the UK thing.

I was away from the forum for a few days there, and somehow missed this when it was on CL. I have an idea of what it will fetch in a 7-day auction on ebay. I may have to place a bid on it just out of respect for my fellow forumites, who were so kind to call this out to me.

Wish i knew now what i didn't then. haha. It has a tonezone and super distortion in it now so it sounds unreal. Plus i have the old ones to use in another project so its win win.
