Paint a pickup?

What happens if you paint a pickup? , will it change soundwise?

No, it shouldn't change, but it depends on what you do. I've painted EMG and EMG style (covered) pickups and they sound fine.

You might want to stay away from metallic paints, but they might not hurt. Regular paints shouldn't hurt anything.

A friend painted has painted a few EMG's and had no difference in sound. As long as you paint only the bobbins it should be okay.

Ye if you use acrylics or similar I can't see that there'll be a problem it's basically just a little bit more plastic.

ok cool. cause ive really really really wanted a black phat cat since they cane out. i guess i can just paint over a regular one now

No it wont, use modle paint.
