Painting a Guitar.... First time...

Never did it, got a POS Guitar I wanna give it a shot on her.


Tips? Paint? Finish? Sanding Paper?

Don't know what to specifically use.

Not really gonna do much crazy, unless I decide I'm gonna draw something sick on it, but so far, just a straight color.

There is some helpful information on finishing materials available from StewMac's website.

I am about to start a finishing project myself using their outline and aerosol cans purchased from reranch. In fact, I just ordered the paint this morning.

I would like to buy clear lacquer and and pigments from Stewart McDonald, but I don'r want to have to purchase a spray gun at this time.

I couldn't agree more. I learned a lot from that site when I refinished one of my strats in sonic blue.
