Parallel Wiring Les Paul JazzN?

I have a Les Paul with a 59b that I love. The Jazz in the neck is a little bland, as many others have said.

I read here somebody suggest wiring it in parallel, and I did that to the JazzN, and I think I like it. I cranked the pickup up a ways to make up for the lost output, and the two pickups seem to balance ok. The Jazz is thinned out a little and quite a bit sparklier on the top end. It seems more like the '59N I have in another LesPaul. That guitar has 500k pots. This guitar has a 300k volume pot, and I considered putting in a 500k instead of wiring the pickup in parallel. What would the difference in tone have been compared to the parallel wiring?

Do others like parallel wiring to de-mud/brighten the neck pickup on a Les Paul? Or, is the 500k pot a more popular choice?

I like parallel wiring, especially in the neck. Another thing you can do is turn the pickup 180 degrees and raise the poles to match the curvature of the fretboard. Or if it has two rows of poles lower the neck side, while raising the bridge side.
