Parchment or Cream Humbucker?

I'm getting a new bridge for my SG, a 59n from '78 is looking for a Brobucker bridge. I was pretty set about getting a cream Brobucker to match the cream 59, but now I'm thinking about covering the 59 with nickel and getting a parchment bridge. What do y'all think? Here is Epi's rendering of the guitar in question:

Re: Parchment or Cream Humbucker?

I should have posted a poll on this thread. I'm thinking the double cream would give it a good classic rock look, but the nickel and parchment gives it a more refined, yet still rooted in the classic style.

I know, I know, it all depends on the individual guitar and the aesthetic properties of the wood and that choosing the pickups without knowing the grain of the wood is foolish, but I've never seen a parchment pickup in person (they are a well kept "secret menu item" after all) so I would like some opinions based off some of y'alls experience.

Vintage Gibson PAFs used black, white or zebra pickups because they were always covered. You could use the ‘59 and add a zebra pup of your choice if you want something “vintage” looking

Any Duncan double 'cream' isn't cream anyway. They would only be double-parchment. Real DMZ cream is a darker, slightly pinker/dirtier variant.

PARCHMENT!!
I have one double parchment in my SG bridge and it looks great, the double white (bound for another guitar) looked very much out of place.
I think the SG is a tough one. I put a zebra in there and it looked cheap, not cool at all.
So that double parchment is staying where it is. I left the nickel cover on the neck as it looks so cool that way, and I do this on every 2 humbucker guitar I have. I am picky enough to hear the difference in covered and un-covered.

One of these days I'm gonna try asking for "double faded khaki", but I just don't feel the need for a custom shop pickup at this time.
