Paring P-Rails with Filtertron style Pick ups

I have a Godin Montreal Premier LTD. with 2 P Rails. I am thinking of replacing the neck Pup with a filter-tron style pup. Or a TV Jones Classic. What do I need to consider? Has anyone done this? I am looking for a more traditional HB style sound in the neck while still keeping the versatility of the P-Rail in the bridge. Or maybe I replace the bridge pup to a -tron and flip the P-rail in the neck. I like the P-rails, but don't love them.
Thanks to the forum in advance for your thoughts.

Have you tried them in parallel?

I have not done anything to the stock setup. And i think they are in series. So I guess the answer would be no. I really like the P-90. and the rail in the neck. I want to flip the neck to get the rail closer up the neck and get a beefier bridge sound with ??? something else.
thanks for the note.

What does the switch do on that guitar? Also, what don't you like about the P-Rails, the way it is configured now?

I have 2 p rails. The Rails are facing each other. 3 switches. 1st. Is 3 way (bridge, both, neck). 2nd and 3rd (next to each other) split the pups. (Each controls 1 pup). Up= p90, middle = Humbucker, down = rail.
The bridge p-rail is great in p90, good in rail only. Dark in Humbucker position. The neck is similar but a bit muddy. I know this is all subjective, but I am looking to keep the bridge and go tv Jones neck.

I play a Montreal Premiere, too, but mine came with a 59 and a Jazz. I am surprised that they didn't include a series/parallel switch for each pickup (or just Triple Shot rings), as P-Rails in parallel is one of the better sounds available with those.

Huh. I emailed Godin to see if the stock set-up of the p-rails are series or parallel.

"Dark in Humbucker position". That is very weird since it would be parallel in bucker. Parallel is usually a pretty bright sound and in all of my P-Rails it is brighter than the P-90 tone. It IS dark in series mode, however.

You should try mounting the bridge P-Rail with the Rail coil toward the bridge. It works MUCH better that way.

Thanks. I’ll try the flip.

Someone messed up here. I knows - that's obvious...

And that's just the PRail. Why do you want the Filtertrons???

It came stock w 2 p rails. Rails facing in. I like the p90 and rail sound in the bridge. I love tvj. And I want a tvj classic or t-armond in the neck.
