Re: PATB-2b for Southern Rock
I don't know if it's okay to post in a thread so many times, but I had the SH-55 installed in my guitar and I love it!

I decided to take the cover off and, to my surprise, it revealed some zebra-colored goodness. The sound of the pickup is so clear and alive that I don't need that coil-tap anymore. Its dynamics are awesome: notes pack a lot of punch, just like they used to in my previously owned EBMM Albert Lee with SSL-2s. When I play a chord there are a lot of "hidden" tones, as if some orchestra accompanied me. The fact that the pickup is not potted bothers me a bit, though. I cranked everything up and took the hand of the strings while staying right in front of the amp, and the squealing hit my ears SO hard that they started ringing. But most of the time it doesn't worry me, especially given the sounds the pickup can produce. And I finally managed to get really clean sounds out of my amp with it. I am definitely getting a SH-55 for the neck position.
