After reading glowing reviews of this pickup in bridge position, i'm wondering how it sounds in the neck slot for both distorted, clean and split tones. Point of reference is a Jazz neck.
Please.........

I'd like to hear about this too. And has anyone tried the neck version in the bridge position? I've got a normal bridge one in my Les Paul but because it's F-spaced it looks wrong and doesn't line up with the strings.

I'm thinking it would be terrible in the neck. I think it would be very hard to get a usable clean at 16k and I also think the trem spacing in the neck wouldnt help much either. Now the PATB neck is a different story. That is one of my favorite neck pups ever and can be as clear ass the Jazzn but beefier and thats in the 8k range.

Yeah the bridge PATB1 is pretty hot, and the cleans aren't even that great in the bridge position IMO. But split, who knows? And distorted, it would probably rock.

Have you installed the Jazz in your Nitefly? How do you like it?

Re: PATB1 Original Trembucker in Neck Position

Dude i havent installed the Jazz in teh nitefly yet coz i'm still waiting for the Distortion bridge to arrive next week.

However, i have a JAzz in a friend's Fly Mojo which i have borrowed for a month.
I really love the clean tone of this pickup. In humbucker mode it is bright and fat, in single mode its very very clear.

Distorted, i feel the tone would have been nicer and rounder with less treble.
However there is a certain break in the treble frequencies which sounds really complex. I like that, but not always.

It is a great neck pickups and its brightness makes it very versatile for clean and distorted sounds.

Cant wait to hear it in the Nitefly, will post a review.

I think the op is talking about the PATB-1n in the neck instead of the PATB-1b in the neck...
