Paul Bunyon Strat set by Zhangliqun

I've had these a couple weeks now and want to tell you guys about them. We
started out with the idea of trying to make a set for my Strat that had the
strength and balls of the Smoker Set Zhangliqun made for my Tele. Well, he
did an awesome job. The neck is an A5 wound to 10.3k and I love it. Its
clear and strong without having to have the glass of the Surfers and the
increased outout makes Od nice and smooth. The middle is an A5 wound more
traditional at 7.3k and its beautiful. Its just a nice strat sound that
blends well with the other two pickups. The bridge is a kick butt A2 wound
to 11+k with larger .205 rods. This thing screams. Finally a Strat bridge
that I can use! It has presence and balls and is very articulate. With the
tone rolled back about 1/4 turn it is smooth and smokey ,full on, it can
piss razors. This is by no means a traditional Set and that was not was I
was after. But for those of us who have been looking for something more
than normal single coils and have been left disappointed with all the
little humbuckers in our Strats this is it. Finally a set that looks good
in a Strat and sounds even better.

Zhangs pups/rewinds are def getting some love 'round here lately :bigthumb:

I've got a set of Tokai (Gotoh)PAF's laying around I've been thinking of sending off to him for a rewind.

Sounds like a cool Strat set, kjrocks. Zhang is da man, no doubt.

and on top of all that, Zhang was very helpful to me in giving me information as to how I'd do some of that stuff myself as well. Nice guy, that Zhang.
