Hi!
I love Pauls clean tones. But I also love its ringing rhythmic sounds.
I will give you my favorite examples
0:31 great clean tone (also has great rhythm tone 1:12)

For overdriven tones Paul probably used Paf Pro or Super D. In 1991 he probably started using tone zone, but I prefer the rhythmic sound of 1989.
In one of the videos Paul said that he uses a parallel connection.
Maybe someone has a trained ear and can tell me whether the above overdriven sounds are a parallel connected Super D or Paf Pro?
Or maybe he wasn't using a parallel connection at that time?
I would like to return to the topic of clean sound.
I think gilbert has the best clean rock sounds.
I wonder what configuration of pickups I need to get this characteristic sound?
Am I correct in thinking this is a combination of a bridge and middle pickup?
Question: Did he use a combination of:
1. parallel bridge humbucker + middle single coil
2. split bridge humbucker + middle single coil
