JB2 parallel - almost perfect.

I think this is such an interesting, if unusual, approach to getting a specific tone.

OP is basically taking a high output humbucker, reducing its magnetic effects (by using A2 in the JB or Airbucker tech in the AT-1), increasing its inductance (with A2 in the JB and Virtual Vintage tech in the AT-1), and then quartering the effective DCR/Inductance with parallel wiring so that it behaves more like a single coil (tonally speaking) or very low output humbucker.

Thinking more on this approach, I have to wonder if the OP might enjoy an Original Parallel Axis bridge pickup (aka: PATB-1) in...well, parallel!

Alternatively, it seems a somewhat similar result (though not completely exact) could be achieved by using a lower output humbucker and a PRS-style partial coil split. Something like the Pearly Gates or A2Pro might be great for this, giving you a spanky, scooped sound when "split" and a fuller, but somewhat similar tone when in "series", at least compared to trying to do the same thing with those higher output winds.

The benefit to the low output pickup and partial-split approach is that the split/non-split positions would behave somewhat similar to how we often think of bridge/neck positions working, with the "bridge" setting (in this case, the split mode) being thinner, more scooped, and janglier, and the "neck" (in this case, the same bridge pickup in series or non-split mode) being fuller and warmer sounding. Could be fun to try!
