The guitar looks great! I don't really understand why he's gone for warm sounding mini humbuckers. I like the guitar, but not the tones.

Sadly this is reality... You have to admit it is considerably better than just a few years ago. Paul is one of my favorites and such a nice guy.

What's with the hate? The pickups sound good to me, and frankly - Paul Gilbert is one of the few guitarists on Earth who can do no wrong.

I thought they were a bit too warm for PG's normal tone. Probably they would come to life in a 25.5" scale guitar.

I've tried the Dimarzio vintage mini humbuckers before. They're very, very good pickups. I like the mini humbuckers that come in the Taylor Solidbodys too. This model seems too low output for me.
