PC based oscillocopes: are they worth it?

I've been curious about oscilloscopes in general as well as biasing amps lately. While interwebnet searching, I came across some PC based items that seem promising, both in functionality and affordability. Does anyone have experience with these? Are there any other recommendations out there?

There was a thread about this lately. You might want to do a search.

IIRC the computer oscopes were quite limited.

Used scopes with a decent bandwidth for hobbiests are not that expensive, especially if you just want fairly basic features.
