PGNJ -- the "J" stands for MJ, who works in the Custom Shop now with Seymour. If it's from the era when MJ was still winding production humbuckers, then it is likely that the Pearly Gates would be single-conductor. I'm not positive when the Pearly Gates came out or when Duncan started making most humbuckers 4-conductor, but this one is very likely an 80's pickup....

Thats an old girl there. It has the pre-2003 sticker but the oxidation in the screw slots makes me think it's much older.

There's no tonal difference in single to 4 conductor right? I never understood why al pickups just weren't made 4 conductor.
