Looking around the products on the website I can only find Pearly Gates in Black or Zebra.

Yet I have found quite a few people selling them in White on eBay.

Can anyone explain ?

Re: Pearly Gates in White ?

White is not the main demand on Duncan Humbuckers. Its all black and zebra, all cream is protected by rights (you can have it with easy to remove covers BTW). This is why Gibson dont use white plastics on the guitar, they are cream or black.
The PG+ in white was standard on some humbucker equipped Fender strats - so you can seem them quite often on ebay.

Ahhh !

Are the OEM ones fitted to Fender Fat Strats the same Pearly Gates that Seymour sell or is there a spec differance.

I notice that JC Guitars sell new White Pearly Gates in Seymour Duncan boxes ????????

The bottom line is..........I want a white one :)

Re: Pearly Gates in White ?

The PG Plus (or +) is what you find stock on some Fenders and which Fender sells separately (Duncan does not). If you search this website, you'll find that the closest thing to a PG+ is a 59er. Fender just liked the name, "Pearly Gates" for this pickup. Notwithstanding, if you want a 'regular' PG in double white, it would not be a problem ordering one from a authorized Duncan dealer. Just stipulate that you want the 'regular' PG, not the Plus in double white. Don't forget to tell them for which position (neck or bridge) and which kind of polepiece spacing (trembucker or standard) you want.

Cheers guys.

I believe JC Guitars sells the standard Pearly Gates in double white. So an order will be going in.

Ka-Ching. Another Seymour sold to the customer who finds this forum a source of pre-sales backup.

Yes, that should be a standrad PG. I wonder where a few of these people are getting the impression that Duncan dosent make a PG in white??? You can get a PG in ANY color you want (Black, white, Zebra, Pink, Red, etc. The only color they cant easily be had in is double cream.

Here are more, take your pick! What is it going into?? Do you know if you need standard spaced or trem spaced? If not, tell us what its going into and we can help.

No, the Fender version has an Alnico 5 magnet and the standrd Duncan version has an alnico 2 magnet. I think IIRC, they are the same pickup with different magnets.

Re: Pearly Gates in White ?

USA Standard Strat currently with SSS, but swapping out the Guard for a HSS one.

I suggest a trembucker. Its the same pickup with wider spaced poles so, the strings line up with the poles better.

The PG+ is also wound a little hotter.

Re: Pearly Gates in White ?

I thought Strat trem spacing was not the same as Floyd Rose ?

It sure is wider than a Gibson/standard spacing though. Trust me, Trembucker!!!!!! Get one!
